Why use mulch?
Mulch is a great visual addition to a landscape. It creates defined edges and lines it can bring order to an otherwise chaotic area. Most folks know that mulch will help your landscape look a lot better. But did you know that mulch has a number of other beneficial uses. For starters, It works great as a weed suppressant. when applied correctly, Mulch also works as a protective heat shield in the summer and a blanket in the winter. It also feeds your plants and shrubs, decomposing mulch provides much need nutrients to the surrounding environment. in mother nature the forest floor is full of leaves and twigs that provide food to the trees when they decompose but in our urban environment these beneficial leaves an twigs are raked away. When mulch is added, it helps restore some of those needed nutrients.
OUR PRODUCTS
Triple Shred bark mix
This is our most popular product by far. It works great for all general purpose mulching applications. The fibrous nature of the mix allows it to adhere to steep slopes and that makes it ideal for areas that need a little extra help with erosion control. Our Triple shred bark mulch is a combination of about sixty percent pure hardwood bark and 40 percent hardwood wood fiber. We start the process with pure organic hardwood bark and then we add a 100% organic hardwood woody mix. Adding the dense wood fiber to the mix extends the life of mulch. The mix is ran through our grinder three times. This process creates a beautiful mulch. After it goes through our grinder it is transferred to a holding area to be aged. After the mulch is aged for a few months it is ready.
Designer Brown mulch
Our designer brown mulch is absolutely beautiful and is a must have to complete any manicured landscape. The size and consistency is different from the triple shred bark mix. This mulch is a more woody less fibrous mix. We start with an organic mix of various hardwood species that have just the right amount of bark and small fibrous pieces. We then take the mix and run it through our grinder. The grinder shreds and colors the mix all in one pass. We use an EPA approved non toxic, pet safe colorant that is as harmless as water. The colorant usually lasts for at least one year.
Designer Red mulch
Our designer red mulch is will make your landscape stand out. With every passing year, red mulch becomes more popular. We make a custom blend red mulch in house using the same material and process that we use for all of our designer colored mulches. Our custom designed organic wood mix is loaded into our grinder wher it is shredded and colored with an EPA approved non toxic, pet safe red. The colorant usually lasts for at least one year.
Designer Black mulch
Black is the new brown. Black mulch gives landscapes a deep rich look. It provides a great color contrast against the vibrant colors of flowers and shrubs. Our black mulch is made in house We use the same process that we use for all of the colored mulches that we produce. The process starts with a specific mix of wood and bark. The mix is put into our grinder.The grinder shreds the pieces to a uniform size and then colors the mulch with a non toxic, pet safe Black mulch colorant. The colorant usually lasts for at least one year.
